Being a Foster Carer is both challenging and rewarding. CatholicCare is here to support our carers every step of the way.


Our Foster Carers receive a high level of support from the Foster Care Team and have access to a range of services including:
 

  • Regular home visits from your Caseworker.
  • Regular phone contact with your Caseworker.
  • Access to an Intake Worker if your Caseworker is unavailable.
  • Case conference every 12 months so you can assist in goal setting for any child in your care.
  • Monthly independent support group.
  • Carer Support Worker whose primary goal is to ensure Fosters Carers are well supported in their role.
  • 24/7 on-call phone number for emergencies.
  • Psychologist support directly within the team for kids and Foster Carers.
  • Library of books, DVDs and other resources.
  • Quarterly newsletter (each school holidays) informing carers of the latest changes, kids’ achievements and school holiday activities.
  • Special events such as Foster Care Week functions and a family Christmas Party.
  • Carer Allowance to assist Foster Carers with meeting the day-to-day care needs of a child or young person in their care.
